It can accurately measure surface temperatures for various reptiles, such as bearded dragons, snakes, tortoises, and geckos. It is not suitable for measuring temperatures inside a tank through glass. The thermometer is not intended for cooking or measuring temperatures on animals like cats. It can also read water temperatures for aquatic reptiles. However, there have been some issues reported, such as difficulty turning off the device and inconsistencies in temperature readings.
