The Black+Decker iron has a soleplate that measures approximately 4.75 inches wide at its widest point, and 9 inches long. It has an auto-clean button, an eight-foot cord, and operates at 1,200 watts. It preheats to the desired temperature in 3-4 minutes and produces a goodly amount of steam. The water tank is small and can make filling it with water a bit hinky. Some customers did receive used irons with water and bad smells, and a few customers had issues with the cord; however, most customers liked the durable metal face of the iron, it's weight and size are perfect for medium-sized house, and that it comes with an automatic shut-off feature.
