Answer: No, the aux port is data and low amperage voltage. A separate 12V, at least one amp, power source will be needed to run the dew ring. -
Question:
What size cable connects the Orion 3517 Dew Zapper output to the Celestron Dew Heater Ring input? (5.5X2.5mm or 5.5X2.1mm)
Answer: We do not know the specifications for the connectors on the Orion product. The Celestron dew ring pigtail cable has an industry-standard 2.1mm x 5.5mm female connector. The ring comes with an extension cable that has a 2.1mm x 5.5mm male connector on one end to connect to the dew ring and an RCA connector to attach to the power supply. Verify with Orion that the output connector on their product is an RCA jack. If so, the Celestron ring will work with the Orion product.
