Lineco Art Glues & Pastes Editorial Review
Pad/Book Compound is a binding adhesive that can bind notepads and multiple sheets of paper into pads. It is more stiff than Lineco's neutral pH PVA glue. It does not come with a clamp, but one can easily produce their clamp or use an ordinary C-clamp. The compound fits any size paper. It is explicitly made for gluing various pages into pads and not for gluing signatures into book bindings. The compound can be kept for months to several years as long as the lid is tightly closed and kept in a temperate environment. It is not water-soluble once dry, so it's best to use a disposable brush for it. Customers can attest that the Pad/Book Compound is easy to use and has the right Consistency. Its acid-free nature contributes a bonus. It dries clear and stays flexible. It is expensive, although a little of the compound goes a long way. The product can be used with paper as well as fabric and does what it says it will do. However, some customers have expressed disappointment in the product's manufacturing and image representation. There are size and brush representation issues, such as the bottle being much larger than it looks in pictures and no brush as part of sale. Overall, Pad/Book Compound is well suited to its purpose and is an excellent value as long as potential buyers are mindful of its limitations.
