And with a grease fitting on the outer surface, it's easy to reapply lubricant to keep your unit running smoothly. Inside the housing, you'll find a double-sealed, deep-groove ball bearing insert that's rated medium duty for applications with moderate to high radial loads and moderate thrust or combination loads. The bearing is made of vacuum degassed 52100 chrome steel, with inner and outer races coated in black oxide for corrosion resistance. And with its extended inner ring and pin and dimple anti-rotation rivet on the outer ring, this bearing is designed for exceptional stability and longevity. Other key features of the Sealmaster MSF-24 include low-friction felt labyrinth seals on both sides of the bearing to retain lubricant and keep contaminants out, flingers on the inner ring to deflect contaminants away from the seals, and two setscrews spaced 120 degrees apart for a three-point contact hold that minimizes ring distortion and vibration.
