The clock can set two separate alarm times. The clock does not work in Europe, only in the US. The letters and numbers do not light up, but the clock has two backlight settings that can be adjusted. The clock has to be plugged in, but it also has batteries as backup. The La Crosse Technology Atomic Digital Clock is easy to read, but some customers reported issues with syncing to the atomic clock, resetting at night and after power outages, and overheating of the wall plug damaging the clock's display.
