The device does not encode onboard, but it provides onboard processing of de-interlacing, color space conversion, and image scaling that helps with system resources and USB bandwidth. It can be used with multiple USB devices at the same time, but the limitation is bandwidth on the root USB hub on the computer. It supports interlace capture at 1080i, as well as, custom configuration of de-interlacing/scaling workflows using the USB Capture Utility. It has support for 2 channel IEC60958 audio streams and supports the extraction of audio formation information & channel status data via UVC. The hardware is plug and play and provides app access to all possible resolutions. It is expensive but reliable and works well with most software desired to use.
