Answer: It is not too heavy to hang on a metal bird feeder station pole. I have had mine on a metal feeder pole with a couple of other feeders for the last two years. -

Answer: Yes, the screen on the bottom of the feeder is small enough to keep millet in. You can put a combination of black oil and wild bird mixture (which includes millet) in the feeder. -

Does the bird seed stay in the feeder, or does it come out easily?
Answer: The feeder holds the seed pretty well, but there might be some spillage depending on the amount of activity and like any feeder. However, it is not more than any of my other feeders.
