Starrett Carpentry Squares Editorial Review
The Starrett RS-24 Steel L-Shaped Rafter Framing Square is a 24" x 16" square with one 90-degree angle. It is made of good-quality metal, but it is unclear how thick the metal is. The graduations on the square are painted, not milled, which some users find disappointing because they may wear off over time. However, the numbers and increments on the square are clear and easy to read. Based on customer reviews, this product seems to have received mixed reception. Some users find it to be a great framing square for the money, and appreciate that it is made in the USA by a reputable brand. However, others have experienced issues with wear and tear causing the markings to flake off, making the item unusable. There are also some concerns about accuracy issues and rough edges on the 1/8" scale. Overall, it seems that the Starrett RS-24 Steel L-Shaped Rafter Framing Square may work well for some users, but it may not be the best option for those looking for a more durable or precise square.
