English as a Second Language Editorial Review
**** The "Side by Side Plus 2 - Life Skills, Standards & Test Prep (3rd Edition)" workbook is well-regarded among educators and English language learners for its comprehensive and engaging approach to mastering the core aspects of the English language. Reviewers highlight the structured layout and user-friendly design, which make it an effective tool for both teaching and learning. The workbook covers the four foundational skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—ensuring that students receive a well-rounded education. One of the standout features of this edition is its incorporation of grammar raps and jazz-like songs, which serve to enhance pronunciation, intonation, and rhythm. This engaging method of instruction not only enriches the learning experience but also helps to solidify grasp on the nuances of spoken English. Teachers appreciate the check-up tests provided after every three lessons, which streamline assessments and allow for easier tracking of student progress. Users have found this workbook to be a valuable supplement to other ESL materials, particularly due to its use of complete English sentences rather than contractions. Many educators have been using the Side by Side series for years, with this latest edition receiving particular praise for its enhanced quality and inclusiveness in aiding American English conversation and pronunciation skills. Overall, the "Side by Side Plus 2" is seen as an excellent choice for those seeking to bolster their English teaching toolkit. **
