Surco Cargo Racks Editorial Review
The Surco 1206 Universal Fold-Up Adapter has garnered a generally positive reception from users who appreciate its sturdy Construction and functionality, particularly when combined with cargo carriers. Customers have highlighted the significant improvements in usability, such as increased clearance for vehicle access and the ease of installation. Users particularly favor its solid build quality, noting it looks aesthetically pleasing even when not in use with a cargo carrier. Many reviewers have experienced specific benefits, such as the enhanced ability to load and access the rear of their vehicles without obstruction. The fold-up capability is a major selling point, though a few users reported concerns regarding its stability when in the folded position, as it does not lock securely and can move if not carefully monitored. While some expressed frustration with noise during rides, this seems to be a minor trade-off for the overall benefit of the adapter even if a few users mentioned they found a workaround to mitigate the sound. Moreover, the clarity surrounding the assembly and usage instructions received mixed feedback, with some users indicating that a lack of detailed diagrams made the initial setup challenging. However, once they grasped how it operates, satisfaction levels rose significantly as they became more familiar with its features. Overall, the Surco 1206 Universal Fold-Up Adapter appears to effectively enhance the experience of using a cargo carrier with vehicles equipped with a 2” receiver hitch, while also presenting some minor usability challenges that skilled users might overcome with adjustments. ###
