What could be the maximum theoretical speed for an ssd (eg. samsung 980) using this adapter?
Answer: Unfortunately I can't seem to find exactly what PCIE revision the M.2 key A/E slot uses, so I'm going to assume PCIE 2.0, but it could be as slow as PCIE 1.0. If that's the case, theoretical speeds could be anywhere from 500MB/s all the way down to 250MB/s. M.2 key A/E only has two individual PCIE X1 lanes, and they can't be combined as an X2. So definitely way slower than the SSD could handle, but faster and more consistent than a hard drive... Theoretically. -

Can i use this in my dell inspiron 3668 to convert the redundant wifi/bt m.2 slot into a ssd m.2 slot?
Answer: Provided you have the space for it (I don't know how the WiFi slot is oriented in that system), yes; that's what this adapter is made for. It will only work with PCIE/NVME drives, NOT SATA. If the adapter fits, but your SSD won't, you can use an M.2 key M extension to attach to this adapter and place the SSD somewhere else. As a storage drive it should be fine, but I haven't tried to boot off of the WiFi slot, so results may vary depending on the system. -

Does it support Samsung MZ-NTY2560? It's a 256GB M.2 2280 SATA III NGFF SSD
Answer: No, only PCIE/NVME SSDs. There's no logic (microcontroller chip, etc.) to read a SATA signal on the adapter or on your motherboard's M.2 WiFi slot (M.2 key A/E). The A/E slot only has connections for USB 2.0 and two individual PCIE 1X connections (not PCIE 2X).
