Music Editorial Review
The book-CD set titled "Jazz" by Walter Dean Myers and illustrated by Christopher Myers has received immense praise from a variety of customers, highlighting its engaging combination of vibrant illustrations and lively poetry. Parents noted that their children were not only captivated by the visuals but also inspired to interact with the music, whether through dancing or playing along with instruments. This immersive experience enlivens the appreciation of jazz for young readers and listeners. Reviewers Consistently remarked on the book’s striking illustrations, which are said to echo the fluidity and emotion found within jazz music itself. The poetry, written with a musical quality, complements the artwork beautifully, creating a rich literary and auditory experience. Both adults and children alike praised the book's educational aspect, suggesting it serves as an excellent introduction to the various subgenres of jazz, fostering an understanding and love for this integral part of American culture. However, while the majority of feedback has been favorable, there were mentions of some quality issues, such as pages becoming unglued upon repeated use. Despite this drawback, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing a strong desire to share this book with others and highly recommending it to jazz enthusiasts and families seeking to instill a love of music in their children. **
