Answer: Sort of. You'll need to use the next size up for some of the standard gauge strings (.42 file for .40 string, .46 for the .43, etc) or widen the slot by judicially waggle the file. Most file sets require that anyway. What you need to know about these files is that they are not as rigid as other sets, and the smaller sizes are very flexible. That may or may not be a negative for you.
