The Erva BA5SL Bird Bath is suitable for feeding birds and it has a forest green dish that sits on a black wire ring. The bowl lifts off the base and the diameter is very close to 12.5 inches. It is a flat bottom with wall. The ring and bowl are only to be purchased as a unit, and the bowl is pretty shallow and made of plastic. It is light, weighing less than 2 lbs. Most of that weight comes from the metal ring/stand that the bowl sits on. It fit quite snugly on top of the ring, so if you have water in the bowl, it should stay put with moderate winds. Some customers have used it as a bird feeder as well. Birds enjoying it, so that’s a good thing. However, there is no spare dish included, which means one star was knocked off for being expensive.
