Norpro Egg Poachers 9900 Editorial Review
The Norpro Silicone 4 Egg Poacher in red has garnered a mixed reception from customers, primarily used for making poached eggs at home. Many reviewers commend its ease of use and cleanup, making it a preferred tool for breakfast enthusiasts, especially for dishes like eggs benedict. The well-Constructed design appears to satisfy those looking for a nonstick alternative, as reflected in several positive remarks about its quality and performance. However, not all experiences have been pleasant. A notable criticism from users revolves around the cooking efficiency of the poacher. Some customers reported that their eggs took significantly longer to cook compared to traditional metal poachers, leading to undesirable rubbery textures. This was attributed to the thickness of the silicone material, which seems to hinder heat transfer and prolong cooking times. Additionally, the non-stick quality has come under scrutiny, with some stating that they encountered sticking issues worse than with their previous metal versions. Nevertheless, despite the challenges, many still praise its overall practicality, especially in terms of storage efficiency in small kitchens, and the minimal use of added fats that traditional nonstick pans often require. Reviews emphasize that while there may be a learning curve and a need for additional cooking techniques, especially with the water level and timing, the silicone poacher is a solid tool for those willing to adapt their cooking methods. **
