The APOC Atrim Tac Brutus is a black neo-gladius that is well worth the cost for its steel and cut. The blade is sturdy enough for real battle and is well-balanced and comfortable in the hand. However, some reviewers noted that the handle may feel thin for those with larger hands. Some customers have found the QC and finish to be lacking, with hard 90-degree angles around the guard and pommel that can cause injury if not wearing gloves, warped scales on one side, and a visible gap between the scale and the tang near the guard. The coating on the blade is purely cosmetic and not suitable for use, and the edge itself is crude and needs resharpening. The blade is heavy and not well-balanced, with the point of balance three inches forward of the guard. Reviewers suggest adding a lanyard to prevent losing grip during a heavy swing. However, the product is still a good value for those who have the ability to fix the manufacturing issues as it is a full tang roman gladius style blade. The sheath is tight fitting at the handle but loose at the tip. The blade is oily, probably to prevent rust. Overall, it's a cool full black color and meets all description metrics. The APOC Atrim Tac Brutus is an excellent quality piece, but it is not perfect, and some reviewers recommend passing on this if looking for something refined.
