Saddlemen Saddle Bags Editorial Review

The Saddlemen 3516-0109 Wide Sport Tunnel Bag is a convenient and well-made option for motorcyclists looking for extra storage space. It is especially useful for bikes that don't have suitable saddlebag options. The bag fits tightly and securely on various bikes, including Harley Davidson, BMW, Suzuki, Yamaha, Ducati, and Buell. The bag has enough space to hold essential items for a weekend trip and is priced affordably at $100. It also comes with a rain cover for added protection. The overall design and operation of the bag are praised by customers who found it perfect for short trips and riding around town. However, some customers have reported issues with the fabric not being colorfast. After a year of garage storage, the fabric exposed to the sun bleached. Saddlemen refused to provide an adjustment, suggesting the use of UV protection. This raised questions about why the company doesn't use UV stable fabric for such a pricey product. Some customers have sprayed their bags with fabric and vinyl products to protect them from further damage. Another downside of the bag is the mounting system, which leaves room for improvement. Customers have also complained about the lack of rigidity in the sides and bottom of the bag. The placement of the "phone" pouches in the front is Considered impractical since the bag cannot stand upright, and placing a phone in plastic and glass doesn't seem safe. Overall, the Saddlemen 3516-0109 Wide Sport Tunnel Bag offers convenience and decent storage capacity for motorcyclists. It is a good option for short trips and urban riding, but potential buyers should be aware of the fabric colorfastness issue and the need for improvements in the mounting system and rigidity of the bag.
