The minimum amount of space needed on the back of the face frame for the hinge is 9/16". The Blum Hinge has three dimensional adjustments, including side, height, and depth adjustment. The product comes with no instructions, but instructions can be found on the Rockler website. The product can be installed easily with enough adjustability that would allow even a beginner to look good. They work well, and unlike the Soft Close Blum Hinge, there is no "close movement." Some customers complained that the hinges did not come with all the screws needed to attach them, and others were not impressed with the lack of installation instructions.
