Designed with special 100:1 windings, this coil ensures maximum voltage buildup for improved ignition power. The oil-filled metal canister keeps the windings cool, ensuring optimal performance.
The durable alkyd tower assembly provides high dielectric characteristics, while the wide spaced brass primary terminals prevent any potential sparks. The MSD 8202 Blaster 2 Ignition Coil can be used with a stock ignition, Blaster Ignition, or MSD 5, 6, or 7 Ignition Control. It is compatible with both stock and MSD electronic ignitions.
Please check your ignition and manufacturer's specifications to determine if a ballast resistor is required for your specific application. Mallory Unilite applications also require a ballast resistor. To complement the performance of your MSD ignition coil, the package includes the MSD 8213 Coil Bracket.
This bracket offers easy and universal mounting for ignition coils up to 2-1/4 inches in diameter. Unlike other brands, this bracket uses a bolt and nut combination instead of easily stripped self-tapping screws. The coil mounting bracket is adjustable from 1-3/4 to 2-3/8 inches with slight bending of the mounting tabs.
