The CH Hanson 7” automatic self-adjusting locking pliers are durable and high quality. They have rubberised handles and a plastic retention spring clip holder. The clamping points open about 2", with the arms spread around 4 1/4" at their widest point. The two pads are not quite round and have flats on two sides. The largest dimension, corner to corner of the flats, is 0.975 inches, with a rounded end to rounded end measurement of 0.882 inches, while the smallest dimension, across the flats, measures 0.850 inches. Overall, the pliers are a nice tool, and the auto-adjustment feature works reasonably well. However, it's slightly cumbersome to adjust the tension. The long reach is great, and the "set and forget" feature is perfect.
