Answer: These bits would likely work but be aware that these bits are VERY aggressive and they can easily twist off line.. -

Answer: Yes, you are able to use a Black and Decker Cordless Drill with the Irwin Bits. -

Are they 6 inches long?
Answer: Yes, Jessie, the 3-piece (3041003) comprise of 6-inch long bits. -

Would these make a clean (or clean enough) hole in a sheet of MDF?
Answer: This is an aggressive drill bit. It doesn't make the cleanest holes. But I must say that these are the best bits I've ever used. If you need a hole in wood...it makes it. -

Would the largest work to bore holes in a tree stump?
Answer: Yes, you can bore holes in a tree stump. -
Question:
Can they be used with a drill press?
Answer: Of course! Run proper RPM rather fast Witt wood. Clamp wood be careful when you break thru to avoid injury. You may have to raise wood up on blocks to avoid drilling into table of drill press when breaking thru. -
Question:
Will these work on drywall and vinyl covered wallboard?
Answer: Yes, the IRWIN TOOLS SPEEDBOR bit set will work on vinyl and drywall covered wallboards. -
Question:
Can it be used in wood with nails?
Answer: No, however the Ship Auger Bits with WeldTec™ by Irwin would be rated for nail embedded wood. -

Will this work with a 1/2in. drive hammer drill?
Answer: I use it in a Makita 1/2 inch drill model 6302 but do not know how a hammer drill works. If it pounds I would think that the drill bit might not last. -

The IRWIN Drill Bit Set for Wood, 3-Piece 3041003 is a set of very aggressive drill bits that work best for drilling through joists and making holes in wood. They can be used with a corded or cordless drill and a drill press for accuracy. However, they can easily twist off line and tear up soft wood like cedar. The smaller diameter bits are better behaved and leave neater, cleaner holes than the larger ones. They are not recommended for drilling into wood with nails; instead, use Ship Auger Bits with WeldTec™ by Irwin. Reviewers generally like these bits for their durability and value for money. However, some reviewers have experienced problems with the bits grabbing the wood with too much force, and some have not performed as expected.
