Anonymous Hinduism Sacred Writings Editorial Review
The Penguin Classics: The Bhagavad Gita is an excellent translation, with a high level of detail, including a grammatical classification for each word and a word-for-word translation. Although some interpretations of the text may not be agreed on by all, this book is an incredible resource for students of Sanskrit. The language may be a bit dated, but it is still easily understood by those not familiar with the language. The book is a must-have for anyone studying Sanskrit. Eknath Easwaran's translation is also highly recommended for its approachable and insightful style, paraphrasing the poem in Prose form for greater interpretation and to make it more readable for English readers. The use of notes at the end of the book may have been beneficial if the text directed the reader to them. The book is one of the essential texts of Hindu culture and is a must-read for anyone interested in learning about the history of culture and religions.
