EMPI Shifters 16-2105-0 Editorial Review
The Super Shifter Shift Box Assembly is a product that is compatible with Dune Buggy and can be used for a VW trike with side shift. It comes with a push-button reverse and can be bolted down through the two top holes via the bracket on the buggy. The mounting hole distance measures approximately 3 3/16" and the diameter is 5/16 approx. The shifter can lock out reverse and can be used with bus 3 rib transmissions. One does not need to purchase a shifter linkage separately as the shifter is a direct fit for the buggy. The assembly from the base to the top of the shift knob measures 10.25 inches tall. In terms of reception, customers seem to be satisfied with the product as it has worked well with their vehicles. One customer wanted to know how to get out of reverse, to which the seller responded by suggesting that moving to another gear works and that the button only stops one from going into reverse on accident. Another customer inquired if it could be used for a VW trike with a side shift, to which the seller replied in the affirmative with the additional information that it would work if a regular VW shifter works. Customers also seem to be happy with the shifter's height and that it was a direct fit for their buggies.
