This vintage piece of audio history is renowned for its smooth musical sound, and has been a staple in all stages of the recording process, from tracking to mastering. The 2A-KT carries this legacy forward, incorporating the same lag-free optical attenuator based on electroluminescent technology, ensuring unparalleled precision and superb signal integrity for the modern audio age.The warm, rich sound of the 2A-KT is attributed to its premium, hand-selected 12AX7, 12BH7, and EL84 tubes. This combination delivers ultra low-noise analog output, perfectly balancing tight, warm bass, silky-smooth midrange, and brilliant, airy treble. The 2A-KT Classic Leveling Amplifier offers incredible flexibility, with a frequency response extending from 10 Hz to 20 kHz (+/- 1 dB). It features gain limiting from 0 to 30 dB with an ultra-fast attack time of 10 milliseconds, and a release time ranging from 50 milliseconds to a full 5 seconds. The Limit/Compress switch allows for selection between the internally-fixed compression ratio of Compress mode and the near-infinite ratio in Limit mode. The 2A-KT also includes a built-in adjustable stereo-link TRS connection, allowing a pair of 2A-KTs to blend their sidechain signals for shared threshold response. The controls consist of a Pre-Emphasis trimmer, a Peak Reduction knob, and an Output Gain knob, providing precise control over the audio output. Staying true to its vintage roots, the 2A-KT features old-school VU Meters for metering, providing a realistic view of perceived loudness. It also offers both XLR and 1/4 TRS balanced Inputs and Outputs with custom-designed MIDAS transformer, operating at line level, and unbalanced connections via 1/4 TS cables. The 2A-KT Classic Leveling Amplifier is more than just a piece of audio equipment; it's a piece of audio history, reimagined for the 21st century.
