Answer: No, it covers the lock on the handle. The purpose is to stop someone from entering the door and using their key. -

Will this fit a scroll type lever?
Answer: Yes it will fit a scroll type lever. The lock hinges open; one side has the opening that the handle fits through. Slide lock from end of handle to knob, with handle in hole. At knob, close lock. The top bump on lock is for a key to lock it. -
