Mütareke dönemi İstanbul’una odaklanan bu kitapta Anadolu’da Millî Mücadele’nin devam ettiği, İstanbul’da Anadolu’yla bağlarını geliştirmeye çalışan farklı çevrelerin işgal koşulları altında gizli olarak faaliyet yürüttüğü, bunlar arasındaki ideolojik ve doktriner ayrımlar henüz billurlaşmamışken kadro geçişlerinin had safhada olduğu bir dönem anlatılıyor. Döneme damgasını vuran bu karmaşık ilişkiler yumağının çözümlenmesiyle Millî Mücadele sonrası kurulacak rejimin niteliğine ilişkin bir siyasal kutuplaşmanın görünür hale geldiğini iddia eden bu çalışma, Mütareke dönemini ve sonrasında perçinlenen iktidarı, iktidarın içinde süregiden çatlakları ve ayrışmaları anlamak isteyenler için güçlü bir başvuru kaynağı olacaktır.
